ABSTRACT: Investigating the benefits of early childhood education on peacebuilding initiatives is crucial for fostering a culture of peace from a young age. This study aimed to evaluate how early childhood education programs contribute to peacebuilding efforts in communities. The objectives were to (1) assess children's understanding of peacebuilding concepts, (2) evaluate the role of peace-focused activities in the curriculum, and (3) examine changes in children's behavior towards conflict and cooperation. A survey design was employed to systematically collect data from participants. A purposive sample of 120 children aged 4-6 years, engaged in peace-focused education programs, was selected from an early childhood education center in Benue State. Findings indicated significant improvements in children's understanding of peacebuilding concepts, the effectiveness of peace-focused activities, and positive behavioral changes towards conflict resolution and cooperation. The study recommended integrating peacebuilding education into early childhood curricula and providing training for educators to promote peace and cooperation among children.
